Our first project for Sovcomflot involved technical support for a two-day conference held in St. Petersburg by SCF Arctic. Russian Translation Company provided a conference system for 25 delegates and Bosch conference interpretation equipment.
Later, RPK was entrusted with translations from Russian into English for SCF’s media department. Our brief was not simply to provide translations that used shipping terminology accurately, but to produce texts that read naturally for the target audience. We always engage professional translators and editors who are native speakers of the target language, so this was not a problem for us.
«Christophe de Margerie»
On June 3, 2017, the Bronka port in St. Petersburg hosted the naming ceremony of a new LNG tanker. The ice-class gas carrier operated by Sovcomflot was named after Christophe de Margerie, former CEO of Total. The ceremony was attended by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, Total’s current CEO Patrick Pouyanné, Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko, and other guests of honour.
Russian Translation Company provided technical support at the event and simultaneous interpretation into three languages: English, French, and Russian. Two soundproof interpreter booths were installed at the port, along with infrared Bosch Integrus conference equipment. Russian Translation Company provided interpretation services to the event’s 150 guests, which included state leaders and top government officials.
