Sakhalin Energy Investment Company (SEIC), the predecessor of Sakhalin Energy Limited Liability Company, had several foreign corporations among its shareholders. For this reason, an entire department was established to cater for translation and interpretation needs made up exclusively of professional translators with expert knowledge of the financial and oil & gas sectors. Aware of the need to continually develop their skills, they asked us to create refresher courses in Russian Style Editing and Consecutive and Simultaneous Interpretation. We also organized two courses for translators in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. A Russian language professor and a Russian<>English interpretation instructor travelled to Sakhalin from Moscow to teach the courses.
Sakhalin Energy Limited Liability Company was founded specifically to operate the Sakhalin-2 project. The company develops two fields (oil and gas) and carries out oil and LNG exploration, production and distribution.
Translation Support
The translators at Sakhalin Energy were so impressed with the work and professionalism of Russian Translation Company that, in 2018, they asked us to carry out simultaneous and consecutive interpretation between Russian, English, and Japanese at an event in St. Petersburg. In 2019, we provided language support at the 25th anniversary of Sakhalin Energy Investment Company. The celebrations took place in Moscow and required four languages: English, Japanese, Korean, and Russian. In addition to interpretation, RPK handled the translation of speeches into all the working languages of the event.
To mark the anniversary, SEIC published Tales of Sakhalin, which included legendary stories of the indigenous peoples of the North. Russian Translation Company edited and proofread the Japanese text.
Technical Support
Since 2019, RPK has provided conference interpretation equipment for events held at the Sakhalin Energy offices in Moscow. The conference room is rather small, so we use a tabletop booth for the interpreters and Bosch infrared equipment. Our skilled engineers are responsible for setting up and dismantling the equipment, and providing the necessary technical support.
